Congratulations on a successful job on the FIT Golf Tournament. It was a beautiful event and many golfers shared what a great day they had. They really loved it and they all noticed how well organized it was. You all did a magnificent job getting the community involved...60+ golfers for your first year, generous sponsors, beautiful golf course, delicious food and a ton of exposure with the media. As of right now the stage is set with a total of 14 foursomes (56 golfers) not to bad for a first year event!! :) We were even fortunate enough to get Stan and Kim Van Gundy to become the official sponsor of the event, and they will be attending to welcome all of the golfers!

The Families in Transition Program (FIT) was established in April 2003 to serve the educational needs of children in the Seminole County School System who are considered homeless. Beth Davalos ,FIT liaison, has been assigned to work with the district’s elementary and secondary schools, as well as the community, agencies and shelters in identifying homeless families with school-age children. Beth also works with school social workers, guidance counselors, staff members and teachers to identify and assist children who are homeless.
